The World's Greatest Concentration of National Parks
No metropolitan area in the United States offers residents access to as many spectacular protected lands as the St. George area. Within a two-hour drive, you can stand on the rim of the Grand Canyon, hike through the slot canyons of Zion, and stare across the hoodoo forests of Bryce Canyon. Snow Canyon State Park — one of Utah's most beautiful — is literally 15 minutes from downtown.
This proximity to world-class natural scenery is not a weekend option for Southern Utah residents. It is a fundamental part of daily life. Zion National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park
Famous for its vast hoodoo formations and ponderosa pine forests at 8,000+ ft elevation. Stunning stargazing and year-round natural spectacle.
Snow Canyon State Park
Hidden gem of Southern Utah, right on the edge of Ivins and Santa Clara. Lava tubes, white and red slickrock, petrified sand dunes, and exceptional hiking.
Red Cliffs National Conservation Area
Dinosaur tracks, petroglyphs, and hundreds of miles of trails through red Navajo sandstone. The JEM and Bearclaw Poppy trail systems attract mountain bikers from around the world.
Grand Canyon (South Rim)
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Day-trippable from St. George via US-89 and AZ-64 through the Kaibab Plateau.
Horseshoe Bend / Glen Canyon NRA
The iconic bend of the Colorado River near Page, Arizona. Lake Powell and the broader Glen Canyon National Recreation Area offer boating, kayaking, and canyon exploration.
Zion Country
The SR-9 corridor from Hurricane to Springdale passes through terrain that rivals anything in the American West. Apple Valley, Rockville, and Springdale all sit in the shadow of Zion's canyon walls.
Red Cliffs
The Red Cliffs National Conservation Area preserves dinosaur tracks, ancient petroglyphs, and hundreds of miles of trails — all accessible within 15 minutes of St. George's most central neighborhoods.

- •Zion National Park implemented a shuttle-only system in peak season, reducing vehicle congestion. The town of Springdale provides commercial lodging and services for park access.
- •Snow Canyon State Park charges a day-use fee per vehicle. An annual Utah State Parks pass provides unlimited access to all state parks for approximately $95/year.
- •Homes closer to national park corridors (Springdale, Rockville, Virgin) can command short-term rental premiums but may be subject to county STR regulations.
- •The Red Cliffs NCA is free to access and directly borders many St. George, Ivins, and Santa Clara neighborhoods.
